Sciver-Brunt fit for England's T20 World Cup semi-final

England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt has declared herself fit for a Women's T20 World Cup semi-final against South Africa on Thursday.

Sciver-Brunt reinjured her left calf after starring in a win over Ireland a fortnight ago and missed England's remaining group stage matches against Scotland, the West Indies and New Zealand.

Despite her absence, tournament hosts England have made it five wins from five heading into the knockout stages as they seek their first global title since lifting the 2017 50-over World Cup trophy on home soil.

Sciver-Brunt, after batting in The Oval nets on Wednesday, said believes she is in the right physical condition for Thursday's crunch game in south London.

"I've been put through my recovery paces and worked really hard to get myself to this position," Sciver-Brunt told reporters at the Oval on Wednesday

"We tested it enough to be comfortable. What will happen out on the pitch will happen. I'm really happy with where I’m at physically."

Charlie Dean has deputised as captain in England’s last three matches, with Sophia Dunkley brought in to replace Sciver-Brunt at number three in the batting order.

The in-form Dunkley appears likely to miss out when Sciver-Brunt returns despite making 49 not out in an unbroken stand of 128 with Danni Wyatt-Hodge during the win over New Zealand.

Sciver-Brunt added: "I won't say until tomorrow at the toss. Our team has been really successful and lots of different people have stood up, so someone's going to be really disappointed."
